An organizer or movement that inspires me:

Rigoberta Mechu, The Zapatista Army of National Liberation, and Oscar López Rivera are inspirational to the work that I do. The unbreakable spirit of those who face hardship with unwavering hope ignites a deep sense of inspiration for me, including the Palestinian people.

At the office:

• Manages scheduling and coordinates travel arrangements for the ED
• Supports organizational engagement with re:power’s Board of Directors
• Manages staff and stakeholders engagement, as it relates to the ED’s office

An organizer or movement that inspires me:

Tony Lewis Jr. and his fight for reuniting families affected by mass incarceration in Washington, DC. Through community and youth outreach, he’s been able to instill hope and inspire a different way of getting things done.

At the office:

• Manages the Progressive Governance Academy (PGA), supporting local and state elected officials to collaboratively govern with their communities to create change in everyday people’s lives.
• Builds partnerships with elected officials, organizations, and people who are dedicated to equity and justice for marginalized communities

An organizer or movement that inspires me:

I am inspired by student organizers participating in campus protests against Palestinian genocide. The students participating in these protests are risking their bodies and education in order to give a voice to people who desperately need us to stand up for them.

At the office:

• Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy rooted in re:power’s core mission to advance our impact and build our brand.
• Oversees the promotions of programs, manages digital engagement, and elevates the Executive Director’s profile.
• Manages ongoing media requests and public engagements, develops new media projects, and ensures alignment of internal communications and brand strategy.

An organizer or movement that inspires me:

As a Latina, I am inspired by the California farmworker movement’s fight for better working conditions. I am especially energized by the leadership of Dolores Huertas to empower and train community leaders that continue this work.

At the office:

• Manages re:power’s evolving alumni community, including programming, networking, and more.
• Collects, manages, and synthesizes relevant data cross-programmatically and curate alumni stories of impact.

An organizer or movement that inspires me:

El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz’s activism radicalized me because he beautifully navigated the interplay of race and religion while holding the title of public enemy #1. He challenged so many to look beyond the borders of America and address the root causes experienced globally.

At the office:

• Guides internal systems and operations for the entire Development & Communications team
• Serves as the team administrator by keeping the team on track, anticipating needs, and proactively providing information

An organizer or movement that inspires me:

The movement to end money bond was where I found my first movement home. I am inspired by the organizers that work to end mass incarceration and address the root causes of socio-economic and racial inequities within our legal system.
